If I had a pound for every time someone asked me this question…….!
The answer is not going to be the same for everyone and every market but as a general rule the following infographic sums up my experience having tested this for years.
When have you had the most success with your LinkedIn status updates?

There is a line I disagree with Mark – and that is the last one, ‘Avoid weekends’. This purely depends on the nature of your network (audience). I have had success posting at weekends, and especially Sunday evening between 6-10pm. We know from LinkedIn stats that this is one of the highest trafficked times on LinkedIn so it stands to reason to post when people are there.
It works for me 🙂
Well you are right, every market is different but I’m definitely going to give Sunday evening a try now.
Hi Mark! I’ve discussed this very question with many of my clients and there seems to be an increasing number of people who are active on LinkedIn outside of traditional office hours. In fact, being active on the platform after 8 o’clock seems common i.e. the kids have gone to bed and now it’s time to sit down with the iPad while the television talks to itself in the background!
I’m also wondering whether time of posting is actually as relevant as it once was? I certainly see posts appearing in my mobile feed that are more than a day or two old – and not because a connection has recently commented. Thoughts on that Mark?
I have never seen an old post in my stream – unless it has been liked or commented on. I will take a closer look now but it sounds like a glitch rather than the norm.
