Hello and welcome to a new episode of the Winbusinessin podcast series 2. Content curation and sharing.
In line with the topic of this series (content marketing) I am focusing attention this week away from content creation and towards harvesting and sharing other peoples content.
In the first half of this episode I discuss the various different places where you can find content such as;
- Your LinkedIn homepage
- LinkedIn publish posts from connections, those you follow or Pulse channels
- Trade journal websites and publishes websites
- Podcasts for audio – iTunes, Stitcher or Soundcloud and subscribing via an app such as my favourite Overcast
- YouTube or Vimeo for video – subscribe to channels
- Slideshare and Pinterest
- Twitter and Facebook
For written content curation my favourite tool to collect articles from your favourite blogs and websites is called Feedly
Simply search for subjects or specific people and websites and subscribe, Feedly will them collate and organise all content together making it easy to read and share to LinkedIn.
Content curation is a key part of the process but now you need to share it effectively.
In the second half of the episode I concentrate on scheduling content on LinkedIn.
The tool I use for this is called Buffer although another very popular tool is called Hootsuite.
Buffer allows you to create a pre-set schedule for posting content you wish to share
It’s free to use and a really useful tool.
When you post or share you can chose to ‘add to queue’ (buffer) or bring it to the top of the queue ‘share next’, share immediately or share at a specific one’s time and date.
If you are going to share plenty of content (and you really do need to) you will need to ensure that these posts are shared evenly across the working week at times when you believe your prospects are most likely to notice. Using Buffer is a fantastic way to ensure this happens.
Thank you so much for listening. I value your support and interest.

It can be difficult to get noticed in iTunes and one thing that can really make a difference is reviews. If you enjoy the show please take a minute to write an honest review in iTunes, it would be most appreciated.
If you are not sure how to write an iTunes review I have made a short video demonstrating how this is done.
